John LaFitte Warren, Jr. spent his early years in Columbia, SC. He graduated from Columbia High School and later attended USC, where he finished his Bachelor of Arts, in History. From there he went to Candler School of Theology, Emory University, and received a Master of Divinity.

During the next four years of Clinical Pastoral Education, he was on staff at the Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia, Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital, Anderson, SC (two years) and the Baptist Medical Center, Columbia, SC.

John’s previous appointments include Zion UMC, Easley, Beulah UMC, Easley, Mt. Hebron UMC, West Columbia, Union UMC, Irmo, Trinity UMC, Greenville and St. John’s UMC, Fort Mill.

John is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting, fishing, golf and working on his farm.He is married to Marianne Mitchell Warren who also grew up in Columbia. She graduated from Columbia College and is a public School teacher. She enjoys travelling, the beach and entertaining.

They have four children, Michael Dickson and Mitchell Dickson residing in Charlotte, NC, John Warren, III, beginning law school at Elon in the fall and Jennifer Warren, a rising junior at USC.
